Option 1:
Using and existing ring

Step 1: Choose a Ring That Fits Well

Look for a ring that is already comfortable to wear on the finger you’re sizing for. Make sure the ring slides on easily but is snug enough that it doesn’t feel loose or fall off.

If you’re unsure which ring to use, pick one that’s been worn regularly on the same finger, as this will give the most accurate size.

Step 2: Measure the Inner Diameter

Place the ring on a flat surface in good lighting. Use a ruler or callipers to measure the distance across the inside of the ring from one inner edge to the other in millimetres (mm).

Avoid measuring the outer edges, and double-check your result for accuracy.

Step 3: Find Your Size

Refer to the South African Ring Size Chart. Locate the diameter you measured (in mm) and match it to the corresponding South African size.

If your measurement falls between two sizes, it’s generally best to round up to the next size, especially if the ring is for everyday wear.

Option 2:
Using a string or paper strip

Step 1: Prepare Your Material

Cut a piece of string or a thin strip of paper, ensuring it’s no wider than 5mm.

Make sure the material is long enough to wrap around the base of your finger comfortably.

Step 2: Measure Your Finger

Wrap the string or paper snugly around the base of your finger where the ring will sit.

Use a pen to mark where the material overlaps, ensuring it’s neither too loose nor too tight.

Step 3: Find Your Ring Size

Flatten the string or paper and measure the length up to the marked point in millimeters (mm) using a ruler.

Compare the measurement to the Ring Size Chart. If you’re between sizes, it’s best to choose the larger size.
