What started as a bold leap of faith became the foundation of everything we are today. We relocated our store from Alberton to Greenstone Shopping Centre, trading under the name Belgravia Jewellers — a fresh chapter in a new home, closer to the community we wanted to serve.
When the world stood still, we chose to move forward. Despite the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic, we placed our trust in the South African market and made a defining commitment: to bring every skill needed to design and manufacture fine jewellery entirely in-house. Rather than rely on suppliers who mass-produce engagement rings with little regard for quality, we invested in building something better — honing our expertise in CAD design to give clients the power to create truly custom, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Our vision took physical form when we established our in-store manufacturing division. This milestone meant faster turnaround times and tighter quality control — but it also meant something deeper. Our sales team became immersed in the fine details of jewellery manufacturing, giving them an understanding of the craft that very few jewellers can offer. Years of refinement, growth, and a deepening philosophy around quality and workmanship led us to a pivotal decision: a complete rebrand. By the close of 2024, AC Jewels was born — a name and identity that reflects precisely who we are and what we stand for. Quality over quantity. Craft over convenience. A model built entirely around the client.
This same year marked the completion of our most important manufacturing milestone — the addition of our diamond setting division to our in-store workshop. We had witnessed too many clients arrive distressed, clutching rings purchased elsewhere where diamonds had loosened or fallen out entirely, the inevitable result of careless mass production. We refused to be part of that story. With diamond setting now fully integrated into our workshop, AC Jewels became one of the very few jewellers in the region to own the entire manufacturing process — from initial CAD design through to casting, finishing, and final stone setting — all under one roof. For our clients, this means a level of quality and accountability that simply cannot be matched.
With our manufacturing capabilities fully established, we turned our focus to curation and collection. Our engagement ring collection — as showcased on this website — represents the culmination of everything we have built: design, craft, and an uncompromising standard of quality, all expressed through pieces created to mark life's most meaningful moments.
